Welcome to Starshine Preschool!! Starshine has a dedicated group of teachers with many years of experience teaching toddlers and preschoolers. Our goal is to provide children with opportunities to grow in a healthy, happy and loving environment that encourages learning in a Christian atmosphere.
Starshine is a happy place for children to play and learn. The program’s guiding philosophy through the years has been to provide children an active learning environment in a Christ-centered format. The Starshine program is full of fun and excitement, and teaches children the love of learning and the love of God.
Starshine Preschool is for children ages 2-5 years old. The program is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:30a - 2:30p and does open enrollment during the school year. Please click on the link at the bottom for the current flier.

Statement:
Starshine Preschool is an evangelistic ministry established by Independence First United Methodist Church to serve the community by providing a nurturing educational setting for young children. It is governed by the Starshine Advisory Committee.

Starshine Preschool provides quality activities designed to encourage physical and spiritual growth, with social, emotional, intellectual, and creative development of children in a Christian environment.
Philosophy:
Starshine Preschool provides a valuable experience for young children, offering a variety of experiences which enrich their lives while supplementing and complimenting their home and family living. The program offers new experiences and stimulates creativity and curiosity in an active and developmentally appropriate environment. Spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual development of the children is influenced by their experiences. Using positive reinforcement, children achieve a positive self concept. The program teaches Christian values by creating a classroom where the spirit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control are present.
